be a conventional loan.
In addition, the interest rate
on the new loan will be
determined individually, but it
"will almost always be made
at a rate well below prevailing
rates in the mortgage
market".

nearly 2-million homes
throughout the country are
eligible for home financing at
interest rates substantially
below market rates according
to the North Country Board of
Realtors.

Beginning October 1, 1981, savings banks may
one-year certificate of deposit, paying 70% of
current interest rate on 52-week U.S. Treasury
to $1,000 of the interest is exempt from
tax ($2,000 is exempt if you file jointly). And un

"While this program is no
panacea," a spokesman for
the North County Country
Board of Realtors said, "it
does offer an alternative to
buyers and sellers caught in
the dilemma of high interest
rates and escalating home
prices."
