The 40- foot balsam beauty was put in place by a crane early Tuesday afternoon and lights will be strung Friday. Foreman of the grounds department, Bernard Godfrey of Thetford, located the tree in a pasture on land owned by Mrs. S. L. Lewis of Stratford and the College purchased the tree from her. INTERESTING FACT The world's oldest living things are bristlecone pines in California, estimated to be 4,600 years old.
